ITV Cuts Jobs To Cut Costs
Posted on March 4th, 2009 No comments600 Jobs Lost at ITV

ITV has announced a 2.7 Billion Pound loss 2008 after a huge write-down of its assets. 600 jobs will be lost as Chairman Michael Grade announced that the plan, which would also include other “significant” savings. ITV has also been hit with a drop of advertising revenue, as companies turn their marketing strategies to the Internet during the recession. A large percentage of the job cuts in London will be “back office” jobs, while 150 of the jobs will be lost in Leeds.
A large part of ITV’s planned savings will come through cuts to its £1billion program budget. It will be reduced by £65m this year, which makes you wonder how they managed to blow one Billion pounds on the utter garbage they produced last year. Who actually watches ITV anymore? Let alone ITV2, 3, and 4 which seem to descend into complete shite. How do they think that X Factor is still relevant? They have been searching for years and they have still never found anyone decent. Even if they do they manage to destroy their souls by making them sing overplayed, overproduced sewage that just does not sell anymore. Short of Harry Hill’s TV burp, which is the one and only piece of respectable entertainment that comes out of ITV, I would rather spend my time watching paint dry. Although I don’t want to give them any ideas…
