  • Obama Takes A Stand On Healthcare Reform

President Barack Obama finally stepped up to the plate and pitched what has probably been his best speech since taking office.

    From BBC News

For weeks America has been arguing over health-care reform. The Democrats want to help the 50 million people without health-care, and the right don’t like change. It has lead to a month long slagging match between the two sides, arguing over points that are not true, and not even relevant to the issues. The right has used the chaos to try to bring down public opinion of the Obama Government.

After weeks of no progress by anyone, and least of all the president, yesterday Barack Obama stood in front of congress and gave his best speech since he took office. He called for the best from both sides to unite to make a new bill that works for everybody, calling for the end of “scare tactics” and accusing some of using the dispute for “short term political gains”.

There really is (or should be) little argument against health-care reform. Living in Britain, I cannot imagine life where I have to pay thousands if I get ill. Health-care should be a human right for everyone, rich or poor, and the “free” rich corporate America’s influence on politics needs to stop and stop now.

Only in America could uproar be cause because the government is trying to give health-care to 50 million people.

Here is a video that sums up health-care reform:

I am worried about the Healthcare Plan. Can it create costly changes on my families life? Will the pros outweigh the bad aspects?
