Sydney Consumed By Red Dust
Posted on September 23rd, 2009 No commentsA massive cloud of red dust has descended on Sydney, Australia causing havoc to the nations largest city.
The dust storm, spanning hundreds of kilometres along the cost of Australia, has blown in from the desert outback. Similar storms are coming in Australia’s “red centre” but rarely reach the outer populated regions. The storm has caused havoc to transport, with many flights to Australia being forced to divert away from the cloud. Ferry services have also been disrupted due to poor visibility. Reports suggest no one has been injured, but emergency service calls have increase due to a influx of calls from people suffering with breathing difficulties. Doctors have recommended that children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with heart and lung diseases stay indoors to avoid further problems.
